Congratulations to us…we are now parents! Just like many others before us, we scour the Internet and bookshops hoping to find a guide that can tell us how to be good parents. Well, at the very least, we should avoid messing up our parental duties. There is a problem – we are based in Singapore. While this is a great place to live and work, it’s quite a different story for the kids. Singapore has been consistently ranked among the top countries in the world by the OECD’s Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) for some time. This book describes our journey as parents in Singapore – from infancy to pre-school to the Gifted Education Program to Raffles Institution to getting offers from top universities: Imperial College, University College, NUS College, Nanyang Technological University, Waseda University, among others. It is my hope that this journey will provide a guideline to other parents so that they can do the same, or better…
