The brutal murder of a hospital pathologist and the seemingly natural death of a prison inmate become linked when the young, brilliant forensic pathologist Doctor Sarah Harper makes an unbelievable discovery on the cause of death. Initially, Harper and Detective Chief Inspector Frank Thompson don't see eye-to-eye but then Thompson seems to rub most people up the wrong way.
