Lessons From Leukemia chronicles a season of life when the author’s wife was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. The “lessons” were originally written as short essays and poems, added to email updates (see appendix), and sent to family members, friends, and people from the church community who were eager to stay informed. Cathartically expressing the thoughts and feelings which weighed heavily on his mind and heart, the writings also shared the wisdom that God revealed in a time of pain and affliction, providing comfort and hope to others who were also going through difficult times. Ten years later, with some added chronology and structure, and some final thoughts and insights, Lessons From Leukemia provides an authentic and genuine perspective on suffering and demonstrates how God can teach us through our trials.
