In 1969, as the Vietnam War was winding down, a 20-year old sailor writes home. Written mainly from a U.S. Navy Swiftboat, the story takes the reader back to the training, and on to duty in the Vietnam War. While patrolling the South China Sea and the rivers of the Mekong Delta, the author sends home his observations, feelings, and experiences. The story of a small town boy going to war, and then coming home to a changing America.
