INTRODUCTION The mental health and well-being of our children needs greater attention in every nation. Hendren, Birell & Orley (1994) point out "nearly one in five children will have emotional or behavioral problems at some time during their youth regardless of where they live or how well to do they are". Children with emotional problems show their impairment in variety of ways such as failing academically, having poor self-image, having poor relationships and also low respect for law of their society and adults. Academic failure and social rejection have lasting consequences as a failure to learn in school limits a child's chance to succeed in life.
