No one in his native village in Holland could have imagined Date to become a teacher. He hated school, failed miserably and schooling ended in grade four primary. He was fourteen years old and had seen enough of school. Yet after immigrating to Canada a different spirit awakened in his inner soul. It was back to school at age 22, but where would a 22 year old start? Certainly not in grade four! Progressive years later he earned an MA in Education at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. Date has taught for years, spent 20 years in Africa also in Education and years in development work. Now he mat flood the world with cartoons and novels. Watch him go!
