I have had a long- time dream to get my collection of poetry and essays published so I can leave my family a legacy, besides something tangible that they can remember me by. I have been writing and composing poetry in my mind since I was a young child. Memorization was not burdensome for me. As I grew older the necessity to extend my imagination, as well as to initiate my creativity became important and compelling to me. I thought it might be appropriate at this stage to start writing thoughts down and I did. I have lived in several countries and environments around the world, and have always believed that through my artwork coupled with my writings, I would be separated from others. My stubborn persistence, dwelling on perfection, was a forceful drive that compelled me to strive for more, even to be 'bigger and better, ' than I ever thought I could be. If nothing else, I sincerely hope this book will inspire others, who may be in darkness and hesitant to share their innermost feelings and life experiences with others. It is not easy to trust and release our own psychological makeup. Most of us carry burdens, coupled with our individual hurts and our anguish amongst others. But sharing our innermost feelings will hopefully both inspire and teach us to grow stronger, not only in our own self-belief, but in that of others. This is my desire anyway. Always believe in yourself and your own capabilities. Let inspiration be your light! May God bless you all.
