For years Sonia ignored the signs in her body telling her to slow down and listen until a terminal illness led her on a challenging journey towards deep awakening, trust and spiritual healing. She began a book to share her incredible discoveries with others but died before it was completed. As her friend, I was offered the privilege of completing this book, her dream. As Sonia said, "Like many people in this modern world, I was disconnected from myself, my family, the natural world, actually from most things that mattered. Distracted by career, technology, money, possessions and social norms, I lost the connection to my true Self because of the societal pressures to conform to the system. By keeping so busy, we can easily lose touch with our true Selves. But it is always here, present within us, even when we are not. For years, my body kept tapping me on the shoulder, telling me to slow down and listen but I was too busy... a convenient excuse. It was cancer that eventually forced me to take notice. At the age of 53, everything changed as my eyes were opened for the first time. I could never have imagined the incredible journey I was about to begin that would challenge every convention in my structured world. We have all been wearing blinkers. It is time to wake up. Life is way beyond anything we could have ever imagined ."
