It started out talking on my best friend's bedroom floor, trying to figure out the right time when you're supposed to say "I love you" when you're in a new relationship. We were laughing about our old relationships, and how she was told she was loved in a cheap, one star motel that smelled like cigarettes. And I laughed, and came up with the title.Later that day I was driving and thinking of all the times I had said "I love you," and all the times it had been said back to me. I thought of all the poems I had locked away, and finally, I decided that it was time they were released. Here are all the thoughts I've had on love when I've been either in or out of a relationship.
