This full-length novel replaces a novella briefly listed at Amazon in 2024 before it was unpublished. The novella had a Goodreads score of 4.5 from 6 ratings.
People in the Coggins Point area are suffering. Threats lead to violence, and then one river bottom resident is shot through the shoulder in a bogus act of ‘self-defence’. Not long after that three people die in a fire at the Allied Oysters pack house.
The Analyst has ‘probable cause’ the size of a mountain, but the Coyote can’t find anything on the ground. While the head of the snake is in Wakefield, the body is out in the small towns and poorer areas of the Grafton Police Department, aided by a deputy who no longer protects the people he was sworn to serve.
It takes a while to identify every link in a businessman’s criminal empire, but the Traveller does just that. Then he sets about eliminating them – one by one.
