The purpose of this book of prayers is to lift up the hurting, the hopeful and the praiseful, to draw each of us closer to the Lord of all compassion, forgiveness, mercy and love. While each prayer reflects, to some degree, the author's knowledge and experience of the Lord, the meaning, depth and flow of each prayer came from the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We are all hurting, hopeful and praiseful children of the King. We are all of these things, in varying degrees, during the differing seasons and circumstances of our lives. Who among us, whether new or mature in the Lord, can say that we do not hurt at times, that our hope does not vary in intensity as the war rages between the flesh and the spirit, that our praise does not flow as joyful shouts, then as quiet whispers. No matter the season, the circumstances, or the distance we have traveled in our Christian walk, no hurt can overwhelm us, the flame of hope can never be extinguished, and praise will ever be on our lips.
