This is an astonishingly attractive and impressive blend that's 95 per cent tempranillo, with the rest made up of garnacha, graciano, and mazuelo. It was aged 24 months in French and American oak (50 per cent of each). But that was more than ten years ago and now, after more than a decade in the bottle, the wine shows great freshness, quality, and the harmony that a high-quality wine gains from long aging. Look for delicious fruit that's complex, focused, and defined, paired with clean, fresh acidity. The tannins are resolved. There's just a hint of tertiary notes in the flavour profile and the wine is drinking beautifully now. It should hold at this level for another three or four years before the tertiary notes start to become more prominent. It's a beautiful wine that will shine at the table. Score - 96.
