In 1952 when the writer was born, the term Asperger's Syndrome was not well known, and virtually no help was available. At times life proved to be quite a struggle, made all the more difficult because there were no road signs to help--no way to know what help to ask for. Quiet Desperation, Part 1 is an attempt to describe and document the first forty years of my that struggle.
