Essentially Rachel is a love story - a love story that includes steamy sex. A retired soldier; a rather unemotional man, hires call girls to satisfy his sexual needs. He meets one and, not realizing his burgeoning feelings, continues to become involved with her. The story diverts to introduce a number of people who contribute to the history of the hero, including the lady who introduced him to anal sex - the driving force of the story. This diversion also tells something of the history of the hero himself and his time in the Army. The story continues with the devastating event which nearly destroys the relationship. How his love for her blossoms is the final and major part of the story. Included are straight sex, oral of all kinds, and anal sex. The latter is handled in a loving and adult manner. Although there is some violence in the story that violence is not described in detail and serves only to illustrate the situations in which it appears.
