On February 3, 1929, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Pinner, 31 charter members set the Church in order. The congregation raised cotton to help pay for a church building. Women and children pulled cotton stalks as the men dug the foundation at the present location at 220 Beaver Road in Munford, TN. From its inception, church has been the bedrock of our town's purpose and the center of community life. Our town slogan is Munford is My Kind of Town, and River of Life Church compliments our town very well. From distributing food to needy families, to participating in local events, to the preaching of the Good News, this church ministers powerfully and effectively to our citizens. - Mayor Dwayne Cole. The people are what I love most about this church, which is why I collected so many photos during a lifetime worshiping here. I appreciate all those who put this book together. They've captured our shared experiences so that future generations will also be able to appreciate the people I love here at River of Life. - Peggy (Pinner) Cox (Lifetime church member and granddaughter of charter members). This book means a lot to me and my family. Some of my earliest and favorite memories are growing up in this church. I was married in this church. My children grew up in this church. It's been fun reliving so many great memories helping research for this project, and I look forward to sharing these memories with others through this book. - Janice (Valentine) Greathouse (Lifetime church member and daughter of charter members).
