Inspired by true events, Rowing to the Moon is a novel about eighteen months of a young Airborne soldier's life, during the Vietnam war era. Graduating from intense Special Forces' medical MOS training at Ft Bragg, he is assigned to a counter espionage mission behind the Iron Curtain. Within months he volunteers for Special Forces' duty in Vietnam. Immediately after TET, his path takes a turn, as he is assigned to the 101St Airborne Division, where he is able to help save his fellow soldiers' lives. He is wounded in combat and honorably discharged. As he transitions back into civilian life after Vietnam, he faces uncertainty, and an epiphany. Rowing to the Moon explores his coming of age in a time of great turmoil among new challenges, new friends, and the subsequent awareness of himself.
