Seeking Justice is a photodocumentary book of the Smiley Culture Protest of April 16 th 2011 by award winning photojournalist and author Delroy Constantine-Simms. The 500 timeless Black and white images in Seeking Justice were acquired by following activists and organizers throughout the protest. Seeking Justice reflects the complex and often contentious relationship between the Black community and police through poignant quotes and essays. Seeking Justice is a reflection of the public reaction to the untimely and questionable death of reggae star Smiley Culture, who died in the presence and custody of the London Metropolitan Police in his own home. Seeking Justice is also a contribution to the photographic history of Black British resistance to police oppression and brutality, for future generations to appreciate and learn from.
