This is the new rosé from Tarapacá, and it comes from pinot noir vineyards planted in the coastal area of Leyda, in the San Antonio Valley, about four kilometers from the sea in the El Granito Vineyard, beside the mouth of the Maipo River. Vinified in stainless steel tanks and eggs with minimal skin contact, this is a refreshing example of rosé for summer, one to sip by the glass at a restaurant or to take on a picnic. But it also has a powerful tannin structure that suggests this rosé isn't quite the poolside version you might have initially thought it would be. Heads up here - this is pure fruity flavors and freshness.
