Danny Stevenson has met the girl of his dreams, Naomi Schiff. Danny, 19 years old, is a little skittish at first with the 17-year-old daughter of a Rabbi, but in a short time their romance becomes red-hot. Things are going quite well until Danny, looking to protect Naomi, attacks a boy who manhandled and verbally abused her. He takes a savage beating at the hands of Naomi's abuser and shortly thereafter, she inexplicably breaks up with him. Danny is a physical mess, heartbroken and confused.
