Welcome to Fairfield High... where the misfits are those who AREN'T monsters. As the lone human attending Fairfield High, Anastasia Graves is used to not fitting in. But things get even more awkward when she's assigned to a senior project with a bunch of Frightless, misfit monsters whose powers don't quite work right-among them a siren with no voice, a beautiful gorgon with a powerless gaze, and a seer whose prophecies are sketchy at best. They soon realize they were specially chosen to travel to the human world, but excitement soon turns to confusion and even terror as they discover a plot to take over the town of Beckton, which seems to be spearheaded by someone with connections to Fairfield High-someone who isn't human. Before they know it, Anastasia and her outcast friends find themselves less concerned about passing grades and more with just making it back to school alive. As if that's not enough, she finds herself confronted with a mystery from her past she never thought she'd find... something she swears she never wanted.
