Ontario's Greenbelt, stretching from the Niagara Peninsula to Tobermorey, is the largest and most successful protected green space in the world. It includes the 800-km Bruce Trail, which winds past Hamilton and Toronto up to Georgian Bay. It protects the rich lands of the Oak Ridges Moraine north of Toronto and offers city dwellers, even those without a cottage, a beautiful day in the country.
