SynBrian Hubelit began his musical career in northern Ontario; he attended Acadia University (NS) and worked in church music. He continued as organist/choir director in Ottawa and Nashville (TN), before returning to Ottawa in 2000. Brian moved to Cornwall in 2001, continuing his church music career, and became a member of the Cornwall Writers Group in April of 2014.Brian's great grandfather wrote a wonderful poem about early days on the Canadian prairies, and started one of the first newspapers in Manitoba. His mother Mary was a poet of some ability, and wrote, as a journalist, in northern Ontario for over 30 years. Brian continues in this tradition with The Joy of Haiku, his first venture into haiku. Some recall events from his youth, some events from his travels as a young adult, and others spring spontaneously from everyday life. A minimalist in both musical and haiku compositions, a second book of haiku is beginning to take shape in his mind! Stay tuned!
