Drawing since the age of two, Jared published his first comic strip in 1994, Jon & Gary . Included in New Zealand’s Evening Post children’s supplement, Presto , he was thrilled to appear alongside Calvin and Hobbes . Jared is a busy father who lives in Otaki, New Zealand with his two sons. Jared wrote and illustrated his first children’s picture book, Animals in Vehicles , as a Christmas gift for his eldest son in 2014. It quickly became popular with other children. In 2018, he wrote and illustrated More Animals in Vehicles for his second son. Jared has published several other books including A Cabbage in a Spider Web , Fish Musicians , and now The Land of Ghee . He also does caricatures, graphic design, posters, album covers, and advertisements. His personal hobbies include playing the drums for several bands.
