The Life of a Gangster is about how people who live in certain areas become victims of circumstance. Most people who live in poverty or with high criminal activity tend to think they have no other option but to fall into that world. This book is representation of a reality that some people are unfortunately forced to live with. I understand this isn't a completely realistic approach. However, I believe the heart of the story is about trauma and being forced to live a life you shouldn't have to just because of certain circumstances.
