Mental health matters. Read that again. Mental health matters for everyone...even black men. As a young black athlete, I have learned this the hard way. Due to a lack of knowledge and also poor coping mechanisms, I got to a point where I learned this lesson. With the use of poetry and honest reflections written in clear language, I share my struggles with identity, heartbreak, loss and grief/death of loved one, stress and even low self-esteem.
