Excerpt from The Parish Registers of St. Michael, Cornhill, London: Containing the Marriages, Baptisms, and Burials, From 1546 to 1754 There are several interesting entries in this Register beyond the actual registration of Births, Deaths, and Marriages. In 1563 mention is made of the beginning of the plague in the parish, and in 1608 there is a similar note. In a new book, which commenced in 1653, the cause of death was given, and this continued for about ten years, when this practice appears to have been discontinued. No particular mention is made of the Great Plague of 1665, but the proportion of entries compared to other years shews how severe it must have been. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Find more at www.forgottenbooks.com This book is a reproduction of an important historical work. Forgotten Books uses state-of-the-art technology to digitally reconstruct the work, preserving the original format whilst repairing imperfections present in the aged copy.
