This story is a fiction that endeavors to capture the character of the Apostle Matthew as he became acquainted with Jesus of Nazareth. The work takes some freedom to provide an acceptable dialogue for the characters and Apostles yet remain true to the event descriptions as identified in the New Jerusalem version of the Bible. The story is a work of fiction and as such should not be misconstrued to represent any kind of interpretation of the events of Jesus life or the other Apostles as stated in the Bible. The story is meant to be a fun read adding interesting dialogue as a representation of the possibilities for the conversations and settings of the accounts in which the Apostles found themselves beyond that which is given in the Biblical accounts.
