The sphere passes from ancient China to Medieval Europe and Viking Scandinavia; from Renaissance Italy to a wagon train in the Wild West-and even into the hands of a famous, present-day rapper. Fighting against a diverse cast of protectors who work to prepare each other across generations are the Nonbreathers.
