"Have I told you about the time I rode a wild burro?"
"There was this man who had himself a house inside a tree stump . . ."
"There didn't used to be so many safety rules. When the back wall behind our wood stove got to smoking, my father would just toss a bucket of water on it . . ."
"My sister was a terrible prankster. One time, she pulled a trick on our father that was like to get him killed . . ."
I grew up in a family of storytellers. When I set out to write a collection of devotionals for children, I ended up with a whole passel of rough and rowdy family tales. However, each and every one taught me something amazing about God. So, saddle up your pony (even though she bites), grab a cup of tea, and a homemade cinnamon roll, and let me tell you a tale that leads to God!
