Regular spiritual disciplines that include a focused awareness with attention on God, emotions, and interpersonal relationships, host an opportunity for secure attachment to God and the fruit of the Spirit to freely flow in relationships. This mindfulness-meditation immersion specifically focuses on the characteristics of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22,23) as a tool to focus our attention and awareness on God in order to renew the mind, enabling us to discern the will of God in order to be concerned with the issues of life that have lasting and eternal importance. As Christ's partners and co-creators, we are released from the control of the flesh and can come to know what God has in mind for us. This is good because it brings about moral and spiritual growth, the expression of the nature of God and the fruit of the Spirit – all for his glory – to bring about "his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Rm. 12:2b). God's will is perfect because no one can improve on what he desires to happen – and he wants for it to happen through us.
