Legend has it that the 'Spider God' Atlach-Nacha resembled a giant spider with a human face, dwelling thousands of years ago in a vast cave system beneath the Mountain of Sinae, in the Arctic region once called 'Bloodland'. In 1963, Edward Fisher, a literature professor at Liverpool University, became captivated by the legend, convinced that the Spider God was real. His obsession led him to fund a small team of British explorers in 1974 to uncover the truth behind the myth. What befell the group remains shocking and shrouded in mystery. The most disturbing was the altered state of consciousness of their leader, Newton Jones. While semi-comatose, Jones reportedly recited strange stories, poems, and ramblings, recorded on audio cassettes and in shorthand by my grandfather, Justin Beck, who later passed them on to Fisher. Fisher named these works 'The Spider Scriptures' for their strong religious tone. According to his diaries, early readers had mixed reactions-some found them prophetic, others blasphemous or evil, while some dismissed them as the ramblings of a sick mind. Fisher, however, believed each text came directly from the mind of Atlach-Nacha. Presented here for your fascination are 'The Spider Scriptures,' unaltered along with the accompanying notes.
