Jono Swift is a man who knows loss. He's also a man with a higher risk tolerance than most. Being an investigator of the paranormal and weird, the kinds of jobs he takes carry a certain risk that is accepted as just part of the job. What you might call nightmarish monsters, Swift calls run-of-the-mill adversaries... or friends... or lovers. In Seattle, however, some dangers are bigger than they seem. When an informant turns up dead and the only suspect is a monstrous creature that even Swift can't handle alone, he'll need allies, and that means endangering the few people left that he loves. As the bodies pile up and the stakes get higher, Swift will need to decide how far he's willing to go to defeat an ancient evil. Risking everything, it turns out, is easy. Risking everyone? That's much harder.
