A single vineyard Pinot Noir from the highly respected Woodside sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. The colour is a gentle crimson but that belies the life and focus in this wine. The nose offers some appealing vegetation notes, spices, dry herbs and a briary note that one usually encounters with wines which have a percentage of whole bunch fermentation. There are dark fruit notes, hints of cassis and tobacco leaves, as well as lovely red fruit characters. This is fresh and energetic on the palate, with good acidity supporting the length. A degree of tension here is adding to the overall impression of a wine of brightness, finesse and verve. Silky tannins to be found on the lengthy, lingering finish. This will drink very well over the next 4 to 5 years. A delicious Pinot. Drink: 2022-2027.
