Mert McMichael lives on a small farm outside Holts Summit, Missouri, with her husband, Henry. They have been married for 54 years. They were blessed with five children and 10 grandchildren. Mert from little on had an unquenchable drive to write. For years her writings hid in a box on the top shelf of her closet. One day, Mert chased her dream and published a book called, "Learning by Heart." She has had stories published in Woman's World and the Catholic Missourian. A singer in Branson, Missouri, enjoyed her writings and asked her to write song lyrics for him. She has written for three different singers and has six songs recorded.
