Keegan Tate is an assistant district attorney in San Francisco who stays busy putting bad people in prison. Then one day, in the midst of a traffic jam on the Bay Bridge, she receives a call from a dead woman. The voice on the phone insists that she find the Three. In that moment, her world is turned upside-down. She is jolted out of old certainties and assurances and begins free-falling into strange, often frightening realities. When she cannot make sense of what is happening, she is introduced to an old woman, a café cook, who is also a holy woman and shaman. She becomes Keegan's mentor and guide and teaches her that her life and everything in it is controlled by love. As her awakening continues, dangerous criminals appear to menace her and her loved ones. She must confront each challenge with the same spirit that is transforming her life.
