This is very much in the Bordeaux sauvignon mold with restraint, some elegance and a judicious touch wood spice folding into the grassy, fresh herb/juniper and grapefruity notes. Although not 'showy' it is nicely complex and detailed. Sits mid-weight with fresh acidity, moderate alcohol and very good to excellent length. Nicely balanced. This Niagara sub-appellation has a strong reputation for sauvignon blanc based on long term success at neighbouring Creekside. And in the hands of skilled winemaker Ron Giesbrecht the results are excellent. Tasted January 2022. Score - 90.
